Discovering "Normal": A Women's Counseling Group

I lead two "Discovering Normal" groups, one on Wednesdays (6:00-7:30 p.m.) and one on Thursdays (7:15-8:45 p.m.). These groups are for women who grew up in families where the emphasis was on meeting the parents' needs rather than on meeting the children's needs, often because of the parents' alcoholism and/or chronic mental or physical illness. Each group meets in 12-week sessions, accepting new members in the first week of a new session. The Wednesday group will be open to new members on March 31st, 2010.   The Thursday group will be open to new members on May 13th, 2010. Please call me at (443) 458-4221 or email me at jennifer@beallpastoralcounseling.com as soon as possible if you are interested in joining one of these groups.

Online Counseling

Are you interested in counseling but don’t know how or when you can fit it into your schedule?

Are you comfortable with email and/or online chat?

Then online counseling may be right for you!

Online sessions are conducted via secure and encrypted chat and email. Therapeutic email exchanges allow you to send me detailed information about your situation, taking time with your words and concerns. I will return an email with feedback, suggestions and recommendations.  Chat occurs in real time and is conversational in style. Email is not in real time and can provide meaningful time between exchanges to reflect on responses.

If you enjoy language, reading, and communicating via letters, emails and chat, then you will probably enjoy a counseling process that is text-based.

Video counseling is also available for those who are interested in online counseling but who want an alternative to text-based counseling.

And any of these modalities may be combined with face-to-face counseling, depending upon your needs and desires.
